Math is challenging, kids will have a hard time or even hate their time doing math. Because of these negative point of view, there are ways parents can encourage creativity in Maths.

1. Avoid showing them how to solve the problem

This is a tough thing to do for most parents as it needs a lot of self-control to watch our child struggle, make mistakes and feel frustrated, but it will be worth it. The child who manages to solve a problem on their own with minimal help from you will feel much more satisfied and self-reliant.

2. Share your experiences

Growing up, you probably had your own fair share of struggles before being a whiz at math. Let your child know you went through the same processes they did and you persevered on. Let your child know they are not alone in their struggle and you believe in them.

3. Have a discussion about how we use math in our daily life

Ponder over questions such as how many grains of raw rice might make a pot of cooked rice, or how math is used to make beautiful geometrical patterns.
