Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar (KTJ) was founded in 1991 by HRH Prince Naquiyuddin, HRH Prince Imran and HRH Princess Dara Naquiah. KTJ is a full-boarding, co-educational institution and over the years, it has established itself as an institution that provides high-quality, prestigious British curriculum education.

The academic programme at Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar is designed to be relevant, challenging and fun. Teachers utilise best practices, incorporating modern learning strategies to engage and stimulate students, from Pre-school to A level classes. An important feature of KTJ is that all students are helped to succeed and fulfil their potential.

The students complete their work in the evenings, in Houses, under the direct supervision of staff qualified in a wide variety of academic subjects. Boarders can seek help from the staff whenever they have problems completing assignments, or with their preparatory work. This ensures that they can be well-prepared for classes and are not left struggling alone with problems.

Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar offers boarding facilities for students which provides students the unique perspective of building friendships with fellow students while learning to cope in a new challenging environment.

Beyond this, the school also boast an array of academic and co-curricular facilities that includes dedicated learning facilities and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities that provide students a study and life balance.
