International Schools in Malaysia that offer Scholarships

Scholarships are typically awarded to students who have a strong academic record and active involvement in school activities. Besides government agencies and corporate companies, international schools have also been actively given out scholarships to deserving students to support their education.

Here is a list of international schools in Malaysia that offer scholarships:

Australian International School Malaysia (AISM)

Level:

Year 11 and 12

Offers:

Covers 100% of the cost of the application fee, deposit, admissions fee and tuition fees for Years 11 and 12 at AISM.

Requirements:

  • Malaysian students sitting for SPM or IGCSE examinations
  • Have an outstanding academic performance, a strong background in other school activities including leadership, sport and the arts, and school community involvement
  • Not currently enrolled in AISM

Level:

Sixth Form

Offers:

A waiver on the application and registration fees (benefit of RM21,300), as well as a discount of up to RM50,000 on tuition fees

Requirements:

  • Students with Malaysian Passport
  • Eligible to join Year 12 in the 2021-2022 academic year (commencing August 2021)

A-Level

1. The ISP Scholarship Programme

Offers:

  • Partial 75% - Awarded to the ISP student with the best overall IGCSE results
  • Partial 50% - Awarded to the ISP student with the second best overall IGCSE results
  • Partial 25% - Awarded to the ISP student with the third best overall IGCSE results
  • Partial 25% – Principal’s Scholarships - Awarded for outstanding contribution to non-academic areas of the school

Requirements:

  • Students of ISP
  • Scholarships are awarded based on statistical data of the IGCSE results that are formally released by the respective examination board

2. The ISP Bursary Scholarship

Offers:

100% scholarship

Requirements:

  • A high achieving student with limited financial means
  • Malaysian or international students who have completed their SPM or equivalent qualification, and wish to study for their A-Levels at ISP
  • Not currently enrolled in ISP

Level:

Sixth Form

Offers:

Tuition, activity fees including weekend excursions and full boarding.

Requirements:

  • A citizen of an eligible Commonwealth Country
  • Below 17 years old when starting at King Henry VIII College
  • Academic requirement with a minimum of 5 A* - C in IGCSE or equivalent qualification
  • Able to commence school at King Henry VIII College, Malaysia for the 2-year Sixth Form Programme

Requirements:

  • Students should be about to enter Year 12, the first year of the IB Diploma Programme
  • Aged 15 and above at the time of enrolment
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and independent thinking, while being respectful of other views and concerned to make a difference in the world

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate consistently outstanding academic achievement
  • Aiming for an international level of education at a good university
  • Fulfill all the criteria for entry onto A Levels in Sixth Form

2. Reach for the Stars Scholarships

Offers:

Partial scholarships covering up to 50% of fees

Requirements:

  • Show strong academic achievement
  • An outstanding model student
  • A letter of recommendation from current principal or teacher
  • A letter of recommendation from an adult outside the school environment who knows you through your extra-curricular activities; either sports, music, arts, or community service

Requirements:

  • Open to both Malaysian and International student applicants
