GIS sets a new benchmark for holistic education with its state-of-the-art Sports Complex, empowering students to excel both in academics and athletics.

Garden International School (GIS) has officially launched its new RM100 million Sports Complex, a cutting-edge facility that reaffirms the school’s commitment to holistic education and student excellence.

Spanning five levels and over 200,000 square feet, the new complex features an Olympic-size swimming pool, two indoor basketball courts, two tennis courts, and a fully-equipped gym and fitness suite.

The facility supports the growing achievements of GIS students, many of whom represent their states and Malaysia in competitive sports.

The launch was officiated by YB Puan Hannah Yeoh, Member of Parliament for Segambut, and attended by leaders from Taylor’s Education Group, including Dato’ Loy Teik Ngan, Mr BK Gan, Ms Angelina Tee, and Mr Peter J. Derby-Crook, MBE.

“This Sports Complex and underground car park have been eight years in the making,” said Mr BK Gan, President and CEO of Taylor’s Schools. “It provides our students with world-class facilities to help them push their limits, build resilience, and grow together as teammates.”

Beyond promoting sports excellence, the project also improves accessibility and safety through a new underground car park with enhanced entry points and drop-off areas.

The Sports Complex marks Phase 1 of GIS’s campus transformation, with Phase 2, a new Performing Arts Centre, set to begin soon, bringing total investments to RM185 million.

GIS has also opened parts of the facility, including its swimming pool and sports hall, to the public to support community engagement and grassroots sports development, aligning with Malaysia’s national sports agenda.
