Australian International School Malaysia (ASIM)

Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) has been offering a high-quality Australian Curriculum since 2000 to set a firm foundation for students’ academic success, love of learning, healthy lifestyle, ensuring that students are committed to giving back to the community as leaders.

AISM is now offering the Pre-University Scholarships to a limited number of deserving, high achieving students who wish to enrol into AISM’s Year 11 and Year 12 and earn the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC).

  1. Open for Malaysian citizens who are not enrolled at AISM and who are completing or have completed their SPM/IB MYP/IGCSE/O Levels examination.
  2. Aged 17 to 18-years-old.
  3. Academically strong and exhibit good character, communication skills and involvement in co-curricular activities.
  4. Applicant’s financial needs will be taken into consideration.
  5. Scholarship recipients will begin school at AISM in January 2021 (enrolling into Year 11).
  6. Pass the assessment test and interview.

The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL)

The International School of Kuala Lumpur, or ISKL, provides students with an opportunity to experience a world-class American curriculum. The school will be awarding scholarships to deserving students who are academically accomplished and have leadership potential in them, ensuring that they have what it takes to help the communities around them. ISKL’s mission is to mentor and guide its students to reach their full potential and equipping them with the knowledge, attitude and transferable skills required to fulfil their responsibilities and face challenges.

Here are the types of scholarships offered at ISKL:

Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar (KTJ)

Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) is one of the region’s premier international schools in the region. With 30 years of holistic excellence, KTJ provides an authentic British educational experience rooted in the Malaysian context by developing its students into global leaders.

KTJ is now offering two types of scholarships for students to enhance their potential in Malaysia and beyond. Here are the details of the scholarships provided by KTJ:

Sixth Form Academic Scholarship
  1. Forecast/actual IGCSE, SPM or equivalent of A or above in most subjects.
  2. Applying as an internal or external candidate.
  3. Outstanding academic ability and/or potential.
  4. Receive excellent reports or references from the candidate’s current school.
  5. Attend a 25-minute interview with two senior members of KTJ staff.
  6. Successful candidates will receive a 25% to 75% reduction on tuition fees.
Golf and Squash Scholarships
  1. Showcase an outstanding potential in golf or squash.
  2. Receive satisfactory reports/references and grades from student’s current school.
  3. Complete an assessment conducted by KTJ sports staff.
  4. Competed and showing great success in sporting competitions at the national level.
  5. KTJ may consider awarding scholarships to Primary school students who display outstanding records in either sport.
  6. Successful candidates will receive a 25% to 75% reduction on tuition fees.

The deadline for the Sixth Form Academic Scholarship will be closed on 1 November 2021 at 5 p.m. The Golf and Squash Scholarships are open throughout the year. For more information on either scholarship, please check out KTJ’s website.

Marlborough College Malaysia

Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM) is an extension of Marlborough College, UK, where students come to freely and securely explore their talents, potentials, academic rigour and responsibilities in a spacious 90-acre estate, where students can develop their independence and inter-reliance.

The scholarship awarded by Marlborough College Malaysia’s (MCM) scholarship programme welcomes budding academicians, athletes, actors, and musicians exposed to enriching and open doors to more opportunities and mentorship to help them discover their abilities.

The scholarship is open to 2 types of applicants:

  • External candidates

Applicants are expected to have registered a place and are committed to attending MCM’s Year 9 (Shell) and have completed the registration form and paid the registration fee, followed by an assessment that the College will give. In addition, parents must speak to and receive a reference from students’ current school’s Head of School.

  • Internal candidates

Students in Year 8 can apply, and parents are encouraged to speak to the head of the Prep School in November concerning the candidate’s suitability. Those who demonstrate excellence and the right attitude will be awarded the scholarship.

Alice Smith International School (Secondary)

The scholarships applications for the 2022/2023 academic year will be announced soon. In Alice Smith Secondary’s pursuit of excellence, here are two types of scholarships offered by the school:

KLASS Scholarship

A full scholarship is offered to post-SPM Malaysian students who are not currently enrolled at Alice Smith International School with limited financial means.

They are expected to be academically outstanding and aim to enrol at a good university, and fulfil the criteria to sit for A-Levels (Sixth Form).

The schools understand that students awarded the KLASS Scholarship may struggle to attend a good university post-A-Levels. Therefore, Alice Smith has introduced the Foundation scholarship to help scholars to enrol on their undergraduate courses.

Reach for the Stars Scholarships

The Reach for the Stars scholarship is a partial scholarship that covers up to 50% of school fees and is awarded based on their academic achievement and talent in arts or sports. This scholarship is awarded to external students who have yet to enrol into IGCSE or A-Levels programme.

IGCSE: Students are expected to apply for a 2-year programme.

A-Levels: it will be awarded to either:

  1. A late entry 18-month A-Level programme (students likely to complete IGCSE or equivalent in December);
  2. 2-year A-Level Programme (current IGCSE student).
