Students Discover Their Life Mission In This Mini United Nations

International Islamic School Malaysia Secondary has been the platform for many, over the years, to shine and explore their dreams and life missions. We have had our share of success and accomplishments through the graduates that we produced. Their continuous labour and thirst in seeking knowledge goes on as they progress towards a better future, pursuing their studies in their respective choice of subjects.

In IISM Secondary, not one student will be singled out from the entire educational based programme that we organise throughout the academic year. We have special intensive English classes to cater to the needs of students who require special attention in using the language fluently and to improve their communication skills. 

This is further amplified with debate competitions where the students are free to express themselves through various means of the skills mentioned above.  Being in a diversified surrounding, our students, consisting of an array of nationalities, are opened up to the opportunity to form a Mini United Nations.  

Here in IISM Secondary, with the expertise of all the teachers coming from various academic backgrounds, personal coaching, tutorials and practical lab sessions are also conducted to ensure consistency in outstanding academic performance. Students are given the chance to have a closer look at what their future profession might be. This is made possible by organising field studies to various places of interest to give the students more insights on their prospective future.

On a more religious note, IISM Secondary does not spare a thought to reach out to the students’ spiritual needs. Our Ibadah Camp suits the purpose of building kind and faithful individuals. With carefully tailored content, the programme proves to be a great success. 

Students are taught, through motivational talks in the camp, to be mature leaders and great team-players. They value the idea of carrying themselves out in humility and kindness throughout their stay in the camp. This aspect of the school is further enhanced with weekly practice of Halaqah and Dhuha prayers where they sit together in groups and discuss matters pertaining to the various branches of Islamic teaching. 

In the holy month of Ramadhan, both students and teachers would undergo a practice of reciting the Qur’an and completing 30 juzu’. This special programme, headed by QISA Department called ‘Qur’an Hour’ is meant to realize and bring about the spirit of Ramadhan. IISM Secondary school custodians and security personnel are also recipients of the Ramadhan Package as part of the initiative by the department.

The school’s Counselling Department is also doing its part in ensuring a bright future for the students. They are thoroughly guided and attended to throughout their school year. Our students are entitled to counselling and guidance sessions on how to manage their emotions and well-being. 

The department also focuses on organising talks and special slots in collaboration with various higher educational institutions for graduating students. The programmes aim at providing an in-depth insight as well as pathways for the students to plan their pre-university education upon graduating.
